“The Quinta Village Green Residents Association (QVGRA) was resurrected in 2024, after a challenging year facing various threats to the local green belt. Our community is no stranger to these threats, after organising in 2005 when 7.5 acres of green belt was threatened, prompting members of this community to set up the original Residents Association. It was this original association and like-minded community members who fought hard for 5 years to prevent development on this land and who represented themselves at the Public Inquiry against the council where we won and succeeded in registering this land as a Village Green in 2010.
Quinta Village Green is now at the heart of our community and the neighbourhood which is registered as the community that uses the village green ‘as of right’, is a cohesive group of people with a very strong community spirit.
Because of these recent threats, members of this community have organised themselves again to be able to represent this wider community in a more formal way. We aim to preserve, protect and enhance our area (including the local green belt); encourage a community spirit and sense of responsibility for the area and its residents; and keep local people informed about local issues.
We hope that you will join us in our journey to represent and protect the entire neighbourhood of Quinta Village Green and beyond. Our community is uniquely fortunate within Barnet to have so much green space around it, and we know that our residents are keen to continue being involved in ensuring the preservation of this environment.
We thank you for all your involvement in all of our work and campaigns and we look forward to continuing our relationship with you and this beautiful area we all call home, through the Quinta Village Green Residents Association.”
